Don Jellison

Noblesville Daily Ledger

Inducted 2004

Don's tenure at the Noblesville Daily Ledger spanned more than 45 years before his retirement -- one that ended later when he became sports editor of the Noblesville Daily Times. It started in 1956, when Don, fresh out of high school, was named editor of the Ledger's "Hamilteenian" section. Two years later, he succeeded Keith Wellman as sports editor.

For the next 43 years, Jellison covered primarily high school sports in Noblesville and Hamilton County. His final three years were as a columnist. He then became editor of a three-person staff at the Daily Times when it began.

Jellison is a member of the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame, a recipient of the IHSAA Distinguished Service Award, and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's Silver Medal Award.
