Inducted 2004

Affectionately known as Woody, Forest Miller's career at the South Bend Tribune began in September 1956 and continued unabated for more than 47 years. In a hotbed of high school and college sports, Miller has done his share and more, covering area high school and collegiate sports, including the University of Notre Dame.

South Bend's proximity to both Indianapolis and Chicago has also provided Miller the opportunity to cover numerous professional sports events.

Miller attended high school in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1952. After two years' military service in Korea, Miller took his first newspaper job at The Star in Lincoln, Neb. After two years there, he joined the staff at the South Bend Tribune.
